The emperor moth is sculpted, baked, and hand-painted. This is a one of a kind piece. It makes the perfect, decorative addition and provides a hint of nature to the space!
Additional Details:
I used Holbein Colors acrylic paints & faux fur. A few accent colors also featured fine art water colors & metallic marker.
The frame is a beautiful Madison County Wood Collections, Rare Woods frame from the 90's. The background includes burlap, and foraged birch tree bark I found while hiking in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Stylistically I like to do a lot of spooky, macabre, and gore. I wanted to branch out and make some art that could be home décor that's whimsical and can work for those who like the dark without the blood & guts, as well!
I can't wait for this baby to find its new forever home.
